THE UNIVERSITY OF LEICESTER - CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH CENTRE

The British Heart Foundation Cardiovascular Research Centre is located within the Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. The five story facility was built for the University of Leicester to provide world class blood and cardio vascular research laboratory with associated office space. The design of the building responded to the tight constrains of the site, adjacent live wards and emergency helicopter access directly past the building. The project was the winner of best education building in the East midlands regional LABC 2013 awards it was also a finalist in the best community building category. The building achieved a BREEAM rating of Excellent. Project undertaken whilst working at ADP.
