A LITTLE BIT OF CORNWALL IN BOHEMIAN MOSELEY...
We have recently completed the design of a contemporary house extension in Moseley, Birmingham. The project provides a much needed extended kitchen and living space for a growing family. A little bit of the families love of Cornwall has been expressed in the design with the use of hung Cornish slate sourced from quarries in Delabole, Cornwall. The slate will be combined with Western Red cedar which will be carried through as a feature in the interior. Another exciting aspect of the project is a large glazed sliding door which over slides in front of the adjacent timber cladding to open up the living space into the garden. The roof has been designed to maximise daylight coming into the space with a series of large flat roof lights to the rear of the extension. A sloped roof light to the side of the house along with a tall window to the front will take advantage of afternoon evening sun.
